The Company

Countryman & Co. was founded as a company of professionals dedicated to enhancing the architectural and urban environment. We work directly with owners, facilities managers, and developers, to solve problems, improve operations, and elevate daily experiences – through architecture. Our work is thoughtful, detailed, and when it's important, design conscious. Our firm restored, and offices out of, Trost & Trost's oldest and only load-bearing brick building in downtown El Paso, located at 108 South Stanton. We specialize in Institutional, Educational, Healthcare and Commercial Architecture.

Jennifer Countryman

Jennifer founded Countryman & Co. in 2021 after being part of her previous firm's leadership that secured the largest volume of work, year after year, in the company's 39 year history. She's worked for the last 20 years in the field, the last 10 as a licensed architect leading teams through the successful delivery of public and private works. Opportunities come her way largely because of her ability to absorb what each client or organization is trying to achieve, what their priorities are, and her ability to translate these into practical, design-savvy solutions. Her ability to plan and execute, expertise in regulatory requirements, ability to design projects for construction in operational settings, eye for detail and deeply creative side set her apart. In the last five years she has designed and led $30 million dollars of work for which she served as the Architect of Record, to completion, including two AIA Award winning projects.

Her reputation for dynamic client relationships, and quality deliverables precedes her, but what has most influenced her work, has been her experience working as an owner's project representative, facilities manager, Chief Operating Officer and work as a bond project manager. Her deep appreciation of the challenges that administrators face, from budgets, to maintenance and custodial, manifests in Countryman & Co.'s design solutions in ways that reduce operational costs, and improve functionality, while elevating the daily experience in new or refreshed environments. Jennifer's management, organization skills, but above all, ability to work with facilities managers, and understand, respect, and implement solutions to their needs, have helped her turn first encounters into long-term professional relationships. It's this approach that that led her, in the last 5 years, to be honored to design and lead project after project - over $16 million dollars in renovations and improvements directly for the State's healthcare facilities, and to serve in the capacity of an owner's project representative, for some of her clients.
